Dr. Carlheim has conducted research in topics related to emergency care, as well as the pathological process of Rasmussen's encephalitis, trace-amine-associated receptors and EMRA antibiotics. In addition, she has published research on emergency department chief complaint as a marker of length of stay in synthetic cannabinoid toxicity.
